If you’re thinking of investing in a King bed, you might want to consider the following:

How does the King size compare?
As the largest bed size, the King provides an extra 31cm in width over the standard Queen. Though it is the same length as other sizes, the King is a luxurious and adaptable choice, well-suited for families, larger bedrooms, and upscale guest rooms.
Mattress | Size (mm) | Size (cm) | Size (in) |
---|---|---|---|

Who is a King bed ideal for?
As the widest standard mattress size available, the King bed delivers the ultimate sleeping experience. Couples are able to take advantage of the space and stretch out, reducing motion transfer and interruptions during the night. As a result, this size is especially well suited to busy parents, shift workers and those who sleep lightly at night. With a King size, they will be able to rest comfortably and enjoy deeper, more refreshing sleep.
This size also works well for growing families. As Singapore’s largest standard bed, the King allows children to occasionally join their parents without compromising on space.

What size room will fit a King bed?
When measuring your bedroom, it’s important to allow clearance around the bed. Ideally, you should have 75–90cm of space to walk around and access furniture and open drawers or cupboards. This will also provide ample room to rotate your mattress and change your bedding. Be sure to account for any extra room needed for the bed base or frame, as well.
With this in mind, on account of its generous size, a King bed is best placed in larger bedrooms and spacious master suites. For this size to fit comfortably, your bedroom should be at least 3.5m by 3.5m. If your room is slightly smaller, a King bed may still fit, but with tighter clearance. A Queen bed might be a more practical choice, offering more free space without sacrificing comfort.
